How did
you get ongoing in the beauty industries?
I was born
into the world of beauty where my mother was a hairdresser and had her own
salon, so I have been hanging out in the world of beauty since my childhood. At
around 11 year old, I bought my first beauty books from artists like Kevin
Aucoin and Bobby Brown, and I knew without a doubt from that age that it was
the manufacturing that I was passionate about and wanted to get away from. I
started working in the beauty business when I was 18 and never looked back. I
have been a freelancer in Los Angeles for the past 10 years and I fall in love
with the industry every day.
How would
you like the beauty industry to develop?
New
innovations and new ideas surprise and delight us with a new look at beauty. I
feel like there are many sources that do the same and try to check the box
where the beauty brand should be instead of creating something based on what is
possible or what you dream about ...
What
attracted you to My Beauty Brand?
I like the
idea of launches exclusive and creative innovation, and working with
different people and experts from around the world who have some light to
share.
Was there a
trend or gap in the market that made you decide that this color-changing lip
oil was what you were looking for?
I have
traveled a lot in Asia over the last two years and I always appreciate the
endless supply of innovations, it is very inspiring. I have heard of lip
products that change the pH on my travel, but never with the right formula that
also nourishe and feels good on the lips.
What
inspired your campaign photos?
I was a adolescent
in the late 90's and early 2000's and I feel like that was when makeup was most
experimental and exciting. I wanted to give a nod to this feeling and feel that
we made this joy!
What are
some of your favorite aspects of the product?
I like it to
be a shade that goes with all skin tones. Makeup can be overwhelming at times,
so keeping it simple is my philosophy. It is also interesting that it changes
depending on your PH, so it is very interesting to discover it for yourself. On
top of that, coconut and vitamin E are a lip dream - super nutritious!
Any tips
or tricks for the app?
The forward
is very nice! If you want more pigment, play more with its layers!
Should lips
be prepped for gloss?
If your lips
are flaky, try rubbing them gently with a damp toothbrush before applying lip
oil to exfoliate dry skin.
How do you
recommend applying layers of lipstick and lip liner? Must they both be matte or
can they have a satin effect?
I always
start applying my lips with a lip liner to get the illusion of fuller lips. You
can then go straight to your oil. If you poverty to apply lipstick, you can
choose how you want to apply it. If you already have the oil and you apply a
layer of lipstick on top, it will remove the lipstick and blend beautifully
with the oil.
Can it be
used with a mask? For example, can we adjust the creation?
The loveliness
of this oil is that it keeps lips smeared even after the oil runs out. I like
to put the oil in my pocket or purse to reapply a fresh coat after removing the
mask, also to maintain the hydration levels on my lips. Personally, I haven't
tried putting it on with a powder because it's an oil, so if you're concerned
about your mask, apply it, wiping the top layer with a tissue so it can soak up
some of the nutrients on your lips but wipe off any excess, then reapply
throughout the day.
Is there a
way to use this product in a multipurpose way? Eyeliner?
Because it
is a variable pH formula, wherever you apply it it will have a pure pink
effect. You can apply a small amount to the apples of your cheeks as a bright
pink blush, but I don't recommend using it as a highlighter. It would also be
great as a pink eye glitter.
Thanks
